Workshop 3B: Publishing in Biospecimen Science (end of Workshop 3A - 2:00 p.m.):
Publishing Venues for the Biospecimen Sciences

Chairs:
Pierre Hainaut, Ph.D. (International Agency for Research on Cancer)
Jim Vaught, Ph.D. (OBBR, NCI)

Objective:
This workshop will explore venues for publishing the results of experiments that are aimed at understanding the molecular effects of preanalytical variations in biospecimen collection, handling, and storage. Part of the scope of this workshop is to strategize how to increase the interest of current journal editors in publishing biospecimen science experiments. Also to be explored in the workshop is the option of creating a journal (online or in print) that focuses on the biospecimen sciences.

Deliverable:
A white paper outlining a strategy for publishing in the biospecimen sciences.
