Abstract Submission

We invite your participation in the symposium poster session. Please submit a scientific research abstract relevant to a conference topic. Note that symposium registration must be done separately from abstract submission. Submitting an abstract does not register a participant for the conference.

Abstract submission will open October 27, 2008.

Poster abstracts must be submitted by February 17, 2009.

Poster Presenters will be notified on or about February 23, 2009.

Abstract Submission Requirements

The following are guidelines for submitting poster abstracts. Please prepare your abstract in Microsoft Word or WordPerfect.

  1. Abstract title should appear in bold, all capital letters in 14-point Times New Roman font. Remaining text should appear in 12-point Times New Roman font.
  2. Authors and their affiliations must be listed directly under the title, separated by one empty line, and followed on additional lines as necessary. Underline the name of the presenting author.
  3. Separate the authors/affiliations and the beginning of the abstract narrative by one empty line.
  4. The abstract narrative itself should not exceed 300 words.
  5. The abstract narrative must be clear, concise, and copy-edited in advance of submission. With the exception of possible formatting for uniformity in print, no changes will be made to your submitted material.
  6. Abstracts should be text only, no figures or images.

Poster Specifications

  1. Poster board display materials should be no larger than 4 ft by 4 ft in size. You will be sharing one side of a 4 ft by 8 ft board with another poster presenter.
  2. All text on the poster should be in a font size no smaller than 16 point and must be visible from a distance of about 2 to 3 feet.
  3. Illustrations and photos should contain captions.
  4. At least one abstract author should be present to participate in the interactive poster session.
